Even though many moving companies discourage feeding their movers lunch or tipping them, companies do allow movers to accept cold drinks. If you are moving on a hot day, offer your movers water or lemonade. Many people will set up a station where water will be available along with cups and ice. Storing items in a cooler and allowing movers to help themselves is easier than having to stop to find cups, water, and other items. Movers will be able to take turns without having to slow down. Professional movers are able to load and unload a truck without breaking or damaging items. While some are faster than others, most movers can empty a home in a few hours. When the movers arrive, they will get to work. If you have packed boxes yourself, it will take movers even less time to complete their job.
