If you planning to relocate far from home, you may have conflicting emotions. Letting go of the familiar and moving to a new city or town can be stressful and frightening. While you may be excited to explore a new town, leaving what you know may be a struggle, especially if you have friends and family.
One way to stay in contact is through the Internet. You can send email, pictures, and chat online. Since most people own a computer, communicating is less expensive and can be more frequent. After making the move, you will meet new people and be able to expand your connection of friends. Try to remain positive during the process so you can recognize new opportunities as they arise instead of feeling sorry for yourself. If possible, make a few trips home during the year so you can reconnect with those who haven’t seen in a long time.
